Feeling exhausted and not being able to sleep, it’s one of the most frustrating things that life can give you once in a while. But if you suffer from insomnia… Being unable to sleep is a completely different story.
You get to that point when you can never get your room dark enough to sleep, or your hearing intensifies so much that you find yourself listening to things you would normally ignore. Like the ticktock of the old watch in the wall or the annoying dogs barking far away.
I don’t have insomnia anymore, but I do have problems with anxiety and that affects my sleeping schedule quite often.
Music has always been my go-to when it comes to chilling, disconnecting whenever I need to. So I thought maybe I should try to use it when I can’t sleep.
It wasn’t ideal though, because in my neighborhood there is always noise late at night, also my playlist varies and sometimes I want to listen to it instead of sleeping, so it was a bit distracting.

How can binaural beats help you relax?
This is how it works:
When you listen to two tones at different frequencies in different ears, your brain will perceive a third tone, which is called a binaural beat. (Delta frequencies are the ones you should focus on because these are the ones that can help you sleep)
For example, a Delta frequency is between 0.5 (Hz) and 4 (Hz), and the binaural beat (third tone) will be a frequency of 2.25 (Hz).
A binaural beat may synchronize with your brain waves when sustained for a long time. Thus, binaural beats can alter your brain wave activity as well as your level of relaxation.
Basically, that’s it.
So every time I need to get some help to sleep, I just grab my headphones with noise-cancelation and go to bed listening to my favorite playlist on YouTube.
